One quote from my interview with Greg Blazewicz, CEO of SALESmanago, earlier this week represents a valuable lesson worth reflecting upon.Β
When I asked him, ‘What has been an essential ingredient that has led to the success of SALESmanago?’ β this was his answer:
The early growth was really about having complete freedom to experiment and building the right team of people. A team that is open to change, experimentation, and failures. That’s not an obvious thing.Β
The particular people we were capable of identifying were committing their lives to something.Β Usually, when you see a startup, you would have two, three, maximum of five founders – and they work like crazy. Today are almost 400 people, and 30% of our people work like founders. They commit their life to the success of SALESmanago.Β
Here’s the thing:
Greg’s point is what set’s his business apart (beyond the product) in a way that is very hard to copy. He’s created a culture about giving people a change – enabling them to make a difference, giving them ownership.
The effect of that translates into every aspect of the business – and most importantly, it’s one of the things customers openly remark about on platforms like G2Crowd as something they’d miss if it were gone.
