One quote from my interview with Ahmed Elsamadisi, CEO of Narrator AI, earlier this week represents a valuable lesson worth reflecting upon.
You can be 1,000x better, but you must convince culture, change, and shift mentalities.
When you reach out to 1000 people – half will probably say, “I don’t believe we can do it.” And they won’t even bother giving it a try. The other half will say, “Wow, that sounds like I have to change everything. It seems like a lot of work. I’m too busy right now.”
It takes probably two people from here that will say – ‘You know what, I do believe in helping my company and making it a lot better. And this will be a net good for my company and my team to enable them to do more, and I care a lot more about the value I add. And they will do it.
Here’s the thing:
It’s a secret that fuels predictable traction — niching down toward an audience that cares about what you care about. That believes what you believe. Organizations where, when you engage in conversations, go like ‘yes, and…’ instead of ‘yes, but…’. So often, that niche is just 5% of the market you think your target – but that’s the segment you can dominate.
Listen to the podcast (this quote starts at the 20.45 mark)
Question for you to reflect upon:
What’s the % of your target market that always with ‘yes! And….’ instead of ‘yes,…but. What if you’d focused there?
